Snowflake Challenge #6: In your own space, rec at least three fanworks that you didn't create.

I have so many to rec!! I've been lowkey hyperfocusing on The Old Guard lately, so several of these will be about that XD

To the Waters and the Wild by odyssxus - I just read this today, and it's such a beautiful, fairytale-like story! It's an AU in which Nicky is a selkie on the Isle of Skye and he and Joe first meet as kids, and then meet again and fall in love as adults. It's very atmospheric and soft and so so epically romantic.

Eleusian Mysteries by Amuly - This is actually a series of three stories about a newly immortal Joe and Nicky, with Nicky struggling to figure out the meaning of his immortality (with Joe's help, of course!). It's very sweet and well written, and I love how it shows the progression of Nicky's way of thinking about immortality in such a beautiful and realistic way.

Lights Out by Avelera - An AU in which Nicky forgets everything after his first death and goes back to being a murderous Crusader. It's still a WIP at present, but there are 14 chapters that are still very entertaining to read!


Darkling they went under the lonely night by mossgreen  - A gift written for me early last year by a friend! It's Esca's POV of the first part of EOT9; it shows the developing friendship between Marcus and Esca so well, and it has a wonderful introspective feeling and themes of healing throughout <3 

Chosen Man by Sineala - I feel like this is kinda a EOT9 fandom classic and just about everyone in the fandom has read it, but it's just so good!! It's an AU where Esca and Marcus are soldiers together in Britain, and it focuses evenly on both their relationship and plot stuff, and it's such a good balance.


On the Mend by Sineala - Just a soft fluffy story about Hilarion helping Alexios as he recovers in Onnum! Lots of sweet H/C and caretaking!

There Earth is Green With Tender Growth by riventhorn  - A post canon AU in which Hilarion and Lucius buy a farm together. Hilarion struggles to adapt to the hard work of developing the farmland, but it grows on him as his and Lucius's relationship develops!

I have to say, Darkling they went under the lonely night is and remains one of my favourite fanfics that I've ever written. It was so much fun to explore his side of a story that we all know from the book, and add a tiny bit of pre-canon to it, too. I do love Esca so!
