I've been really considering deleting Tumblr lately and just moving here permanently for fannish content and thoughts. It definitely feels easier to make longer-form posts on here and get feedback from friends, but I think I'd miss being able to reblog things... Also I feel like The Old Guard fandom is primarily on Tumblr, but I know there are fans on here too. And I think most of the art and fic is also posted to AO3 anyway, so that might not even be a problem!

Mostly though, I'd be sad about leaving the platform where some of my friends are the most active! Some of them I follow on here too, but most of them are on Tumblr a lot more. Maybe I can just convince all my friends to move fully to DW with me haha XD And maybe I can work harder to find some more of the other types of content I like on Tumblr.

But, I do kind of feel like leaving Tumblr might be good for my mental health and help me spend less time on my phone! We'll see, I'm hoping I can make a decision soon lol!

A few days ago, I reblogged an ask meme on Tumblr for followers to request the "director's commentary" of my fanfiction, and I got a couple requests that I thought would be fun to repost over here too... !

Verecunda asked: Okay, for the director's commentary meme: ⭐ for In Hoc Modo Incidemus, please! :)

Yay! Thank you bby!!! :D

I think my main thoughts for this story have been pretty similar since I started writing it. It’s kinda hard to figure out what might be going on in Esca’s head most of the time, especially when they go to find the Eagle, and I kinda worry I’m not doing him justice! Like he’s a very mysterious and hidden character, and in the book we really only know what he tells Marcus about himself, which isn’t a whole lot even tho they’re so close. That’s mostly why my update schedule is insanely slow, I just have a hard time figuring out what he’s thinking on their journey. I’m definitely finding it interesting to write such a mysterious character and figure out what he’s thinking tho! I have a new appreciation for Esca and all he does.

As I’ve been writing this, I’ve also discovered some things about Esca that I relate to that I probably wouldn’t have thought about otherwise. He’s very loyal, and I kinda like to think I’d also be the loyal sidekick character in a story like this! If only I had more cool adventures in my life… !

Anonymous asked: I’d love director’s commentary on “I shed the dulling armour plates, that once collected radiance”!

-Thank you anon!!! <3

So basically I wrote this after I read The Silver Branch for the first time, and I just had a lot of feelings about the character Anthonius. He was one of my faves, and I thought he and Justin kinda had some good chemistry going, and they had some very nice moments together. This was just a purely self indulgent story tbh, I just thought they’d be a cute and interesting pair to write about!!

Also, the title is actually from a line of one of my favorite songs (Animal Life by Shearwater), and it just gave me some good Anthonius vibes! Seemed very appropriate for his character arc in the book :D

I had quite a lot of fun getting to talk about my stories and my writing thoughts for this! Maybe I should start giving commentary like this more often on here and just talk about my writing more... I think it'd be fun anyway!

I'm definitely upset and disappointed that Tumblr's changing it's policies so much, & tho I don't plan on deleting my Tumblr or anything, I'm excited that it's allowing my circle on this platform to grow! I've already gotten like 4 new followers since the announcement on Tumblr, I hope this site continues to become more popular!

So if you want, come & say hi!! <3
